President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman
Garth Braun is a seasoned oil and gas executive with over 13 years of oil and gas experience combined with 30 years of diversified business experience in finance and real estate. Over the past several years, Mr. Braun has led Blackbird Energy Inc. through the successful acquisitions of two E&P companies, the divestiture of non-core Montney assets, the accumulation of its Montney land at Elmworth and the drilling of Blackbird's Elmworth Montney wells. Mr. Braun was instrumental in raising approximately $165 million of capital for Blackbird Energy Inc. Mr. Braun was previously the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of an international oil and gas company, an investment banker and a principal of a private real estate development company that completed over $1 billion in real estate development. Mr. Braun is also a founder and director of Stage Completions Inc., an innovative downhole completions company.
Mr. Campbell has over 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry and currently serves as President, CEO and Director of Stage Completions Inc. Mr. Campbell has previously served as VP and Founder of Suretech Completions Ltd. a subsidiary of a major international oil and gas service company. Prior to that he was President and founder of Suretech Tool Services Inc. a private company specializing in innovative and leading edge downhole tool design. Mr. Campbell is an expert in the engineering and design of completion tools, including downhole liner packer systems used in essentially all horizontal well multi stage fracturing completions.Mr Campbell has over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry and presently serves as VP and Founder of Suretech Completions Ltd. a subsidiary of a major international oil and gas service company. Mr. Macdonald's general corporate and securities practice has been focused on Canadian, U.S., Asian and cross-border public offerings, private and institutional financings (including U.S. private investment in public equity, or PIPE transactions), stock exchange listings, reverse takeovers and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Schmitz is the Principal and President of ASI Accounting Services Inc., which has provided administrative, accounting and office services to public and private companies since July 1995. Mr. Schmitz has served as a Director and/or Chief Financial Officer of various public companies since 1997, and currently holds these positions with various public and private companies.
Kevin Andrus, CFA
Mr. Andrus is the Portfolio Manager of Energy Investments with GMT Capital Corp., a private investment company based in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of the Masters of Business Administration program from Regis University, Mr. Andrus is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder who has spent the past two decades with various investment management companies. Mr. Andrus also sits on the board of Granite Oil Corp.
Burton Joel Ahrens, J.D.
Mr. Ahrens has been President of The Edgehill Corporation since 1992, a diversified venture capital and money management company. He has been a director of several public and private corporations and is currently a director of Canadian Energy Services and Technology Corp. Mr. Ahrens received his B. A. degree from Cornell University in 1959 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1962, where he was an Editor of the Yale Law School Journal. He began his law career with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and for 20 years was a founding Senior Partner of Feit & Ahrens, a firm specializing in oil and gas and venture capital matters. He was consultant to the late Senator Russell Long, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, on energy related matters. He has appeared as an expert witness on energy matters domestically and in an International Court of Arbitration. He has been active in a number of pro bono activities, including Chairman of the Northeastern region of AIPAC, President of the American Friends of Haifa University and a member of the Executive Committee of the Yale Law School.
